The Board of Open Doors Australia and New Zealand is pleased to announce the appointment of Adam Holland as our new Chief Executive Officer.
Chairman of the Board, Philip Pogson, says, “Adam has been acting in the role for the last few months and was previously serving as Open Doors’ COO. After much prayer and an extensive recruitment process, we are grateful to formally appoint him to the position.”
Adam graduated with BA (Hons) in Philosophy at Macquarie University and an MA Information and Knowledge Management at UTS. He also completed the Executive Stream in Nonprofit Management at Harvard Business School, Boston, and completed the Foundations of Directorship course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors while working in executive leadership.
Adam has held Senior Management Team roles in local government and Executive Leadership roles in Christian non-profits over the last 15 years, including nine years as an Executive Director at Compassion Australia.
Adam is married to Amanda, and they have four children – their family is their first ministry. The Holland family love involvement at their local church, serving as part of the community and leadership at Narara Valley Baptist Church for the last 17 years.
The recent appointment brings Adam’s passions, skills, and leadership together. Adam is passionate about seeing individuals and teams empowered within organisational strategy, alongside his love for God and His word. He is stirred by the biblical mandate to operate as a united body of Christ and partner with our persecuted brothers and sisters to make a real difference in their lives.
Adam shares, “The ministry of Open Doors is extraordinary, and grows directly out of a biblical understanding of persecution and the cost of following Jesus. I am grateful to our faithful and generous supporters who give resources and prayer in the knowledge that we are one body in Christ. I am thankful to lead Open Doors and our incredible team into the future.”
We invite you to join us in praying for Adam and his family, and for an even greater impact as he leads our work to strengthen the persecuted church.
