When she became a Christian, things changed almost overnight.
“When we received Christ, we didn’t feel the need to hide it from others,” Jorina explains. But the community quickly distanced themselves. The women publicly humiliated her. It was embarrassing. Hurtful.
It still is.
“After becoming a Christian, the biggest change in my life was that I had to love everyone and learn to forgive others,” Jorina says. Her family is constantly targeted. Her children are ostracised, beaten, and threatened.
“Despite all the persecution, we are standing firm in our faith in Christ,” she says resolutely.
